Review: Supergoop! Skin Soothing Mineral Sunscreen with Olive Polyphenols
Sunscreen plays a crucial role in protecting our skin from sun's harmful UV rays- UVA and UVB rays. UV rays induce free radicals in skin, leading to photoaging and cancer. UVA rays are commonly associated with skin ageing whereas UVB rays are commonly associated with sunburn.
As I have sensitive oily skin, the selection of my skin care products is mainly towards the not-so-greasy ones. I've tried a few sunscreens, including Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ PA++++, Anessa, and Supergoop , and the only sunscreen I will stick to is Supergoop Skin Soothing Mineral Sunscreen with Olive polyphenols Broad Spectrum SPF40. Continue reading to find out why.

Supergoop claims that this mineral sunscreen is designed with sensitive skin in mind. It has lightweight formula and the olive polyphenols in it are to calm redness and irritation. This might be the reason why the blemishes on my face had noticeable improvement after using it for a few days, and it did not cause me any breakout or clogged pores at all. Besides, the lightweight, mineral texture lathers on without any white residue.
Performance
I've been using this for almost a year and there is noticeable improvement of my uneven skin tone and texture. No breakout or clogged pores despite the olive polyphenols that have been included in the formula. It is not greasy or sticky, and is unscented. It can be applied on face and body, but I prefer a less expensive one for my body as Supergoop Skin Soothing Mineral Sunscreen With Olive Polyphenols costs RM136.As to why I prefer Supergoop over Anessa and Biore is because Anessa sunscreen is not suitable for face especially in hot weather due to its greasy texture. However, if you are staying in cold climate, it might be good choice for you. Biore UV Aqua Rich Water Essence is good, suitable for face, but it is a little bit sticky.
Some people include Vitamin C in their skin care routine as Vitamin C, an antioxidant can prevent skin damage by neutralising free radicals or preventing them from existing. But why waste money on more skin care products when u can prevent free radicals by applying sunscreen?
